• Nexus Marlin benchmark reveals flagship-level hardware

Rumor has it Google and HTC are gearing up to launch a pair of Nexus smartphones codenamed Marlin and Sailfish. Last week, the mid-range Sailfish was spotted on benchmarking site AnTuTu, and now the higher-end Marlin is getting the same treatment.
The latest leaked specs pretty much line up with what we already knew, confirming that the Nexus Marlin is a flagship-level Android phone. The device allegedly packs a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution display, a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and Android 7.0 Nougat. In a Weibo post sharing the news, AnTuTu also notes that the Marlin will offer a 5.5-inch screen and a 3450mAh battery. That all adds up to a pretty awesome smartphone, especially when you factor in the rumored fingerprint reader and metal design.
We still don’t know when Google will launch the Marlin and its cheaper Sailfish sibling or how much they’ll cost. But, with Android Nougat expected to arrive before the end of the summer, the new Nexus lineup probably won’t be far behind.
