Google has announced plans to open a physical YouTube store in London. Named the “Creator Store,” it will be situated on the ground floor of Google’s office in King’s Cross, and it will sell things like books, mugs, clothes, photo frames, and more.
Much of the merchandise sold in the Creator Store, which will become part of the new YouTube Space that launched this week, according to Business Insider, will have been created by designers working with some of the most popular YouTube stars.
The store will also be used for book signings and product releases, and will contain three studios with professional equipment that popular YouTubers can take advantage of. Google hopes this can help creators improve the quality of their videos.
The store will also house a barista bar and community area that can be used by the public, and all profits made will be passed onto merchandise creators, according to Darlington Howard, a YouTube senior program strategist at Google.
It’s not yet clear which YouTubers will be selling their merchandise, or exactly when the Creator Store will open its doors. However, Google has confirmed it will be ready for the public within the next four weeks.
