YouTube's most popular games in April include Dark Souls 3, Quantum Break, and Enter the Gungeon.
YouTube announced its top "trending" games of April today, which tells us the ten games that "grew the fastest" in watch time last month. On top sits Dark Souls III with Quantum Break and Enter the Gungeon following in second and third. MLB The Show 16 and Ratchet & Clank close out the top five.
YouTube did not share any specific details on viewership or video uploads, so it's not confirmed how big the gaps between each game on the list are.
With Dark Souls III's release on April 12, it jumped from fifth in March to the number one spot. The notoriously-challenging game broke sales records last month, becoming the fastest-selling game ever for Bandai Namco. It debuted in the UK with a 61 percent increase in sales over Dark Souls 2.
Four of the games on the list had betas last month. It'll be interesting to see how Doom and Overwatch do this month, as both shooters release in May. Mirror's Edge Catalyst releases in June, and Gears of War 4 launches in October.
The black sheep on the list is The Sims 2, which released in 2004. It's place on this list could be attributed in at least some part to popular YouTuber The Diamond Minecart, who hosts a series of the life simulation game and posted several videos of it last month.
