• Battlefield 5' release date, gameplay rumors: Next game to be titled 'Battlefield 1'

For so many months, "Battlefield 5" has been the subject of numerous rumors speculations circulating all over the Internet. Now that game developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have confirmed the upcoming game, fans are pretty excited.

Both companies have already revealed the title, which many presumed to be "Battlefield 5," has now become "Battlefield 1." It appears that the rumored World War I set up is going to be realized as it was also confirmed.

It will be interesting how fans will receive the fairly new set up of the game. During a recent interview with Venture Beat, Daniel Berlin, the game's lead designer, explained that they are doing their best to present the first World War in a different manner to the audience.

"When we set out on this game, we wanted to depict not just the common view of what the war was like. We wanted to challenge some preconceptions. We want to delve into some of the unknowns of World War One," the game designer explained. "Maybe people don't know that this person fought or that person fought, that this army was involved. We're stretching out and bringing all those stories into the game."

Berlin also revealed how the single-player mode will work. He said that it will focus on different personalities from around the world that were involved in the war as well as various battle stories.

In a report by The Guardian, creative director Lars Gustavsson said that the production team is making sure they add more excitement to the campaign experience. They wanted to add more vehicle action, more variety, more choices and most of all, more stories.

"We wanted to tell the story of several different people and how they react to the world changing around them, Gustavsson said. It's about more freedom and different angles on what this war was all about."
Meanwhile, the company has yet to provide specific details regarding its release.
